Frontier Developments, developer for "Lost Winds" and "Kinectimals," has opened a new studio in Canada.

Frontier Developments, the UK developer behind Wii platformer LostWinds and Kinectimals, opened a new studio in Canada to increase the company's presence in North America and further its work on mobile and tablet games, reports GamesIndustry.

"For a long time we've had a feeling it would be a good strategic move to have a North American studio presence and we've been looking around at the various places we could go," Walsh told GamesIndustry. "We've had a dialogue with the people from Nova Scotia for a while and it looks like a really attractive place so we essentially set about building the foundations for a studio there."

The company is looking to hire 20 staff members for its new Nova Scotia office, and while it will benefit from Canadian tax breaks president David Walsh asserts that the primary reason behind the move is assembling a strong staff to work on a "good spread of projects."
