"Resident Evil 6" will get three new game modes as timed-exclusives for the Xbox 360 version before hitting PlayStation 3 and PC.

Resident Evil 6 will get three new game modes as timed exclusives for the Xbox 360 version before hitting PlayStation 3 and PC, Xbox Marketplace and Capcom announced today.

The three modes widen the game's multiplayer experience and will be available after the game's launch on October 2nd.

"Survivors Mode" is a twist to the classic versus mode, in which getting killed respawns players on the enemy team. Killing two members of the human team will allow you to respawn as a human again. "Predator Mode" gives one player control of the Ustanak, a deadly creature that stalks Jake in his single-player campaign, and pits them against a group of human players – last one standing wins.

In "Siege Mode" the target is a human non-playable character. A group of human players must protect the non-playable character while a group of enemies attempts to kill him.

Further downloadable content will include maps playable in "Mercenaries" mode as well as "Survivors," "Predator," and "Siege" modes.

Only Xbox Marketplace makes mention of the modes' temporarily exclusivity, but Capcom confirmed to Polygon that this information was correct.

"These modes are a timed exclusive for Xbox 360 and at this time we cannot comment about other platforms," a representative said.

A demo for Resident Evil 6 is coming to PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on September 18th. The game will launch for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC alongside the new ResidentEvil.net, a web portal for players to share experiences and seek assistance through the game.
