Demons' Score, an upcoming mobile rhythm-battle game from Square Enix, sets music-based battles in the framework of an on-rails shooter, as demonstrated in a new video released today.

The opening movie, posted below, gives a quick look at what our protagonist is up against. With the guidance of a sentient, loud-mouthed teddy bear, a young woman must gun down demons and find her missing father. A tutorial shows a combination of on-rails shooter and rhythm mechanics, challenging players to defeat enemies by tapping and swiping the screen to the beat.

The game will also feature a soundtrack from all-star video game composers, including Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts), Naoshi Mizuta (Final Fantasy XI), Kohei Tanaka (Sakura Wars), and Keiichi Okabe (Nier, Tekken).

Demons' Score was unveiled at E3 earlier this year and runs on Unreal Engine 3. The game is coming to iOS and Android this fall.
