New Super Mario Bros. U received a new video today highlighting co-op gameplay and two new challenge modes.

New Super Mario Bros. U received a new video today highlighting co-op gameplay and two new challenge modes.

In the video, New Super Mario Bros. U follows classic 2D Mario platforming, but changes the formula with the addition of the Wii U’s GamePad. The player with the GamePad creates platforms in each level by interacting with the touch screen, much like the cooperative gameplay shown in the Wii U's Rayman Legends.

The trailer also shows Challenge Mode, which appears to pit players against a clock in timed challenges, and Boost Rush mode, which puts wind at players' backs, pushing them thorough the level.
