Medal of Honor Warfighter's globetrotting single-player campaign includes a stop in Basilan, Philippines, as shown off in an extended trailer released today by publisher Electronic Arts.
The trailer centers on a mission to rescue hostages from the Basilan capitol building, where they're being held by members of Abu Sayyaf, an Islamic separatist group. As with many missions in Warfighter, it's inspired by real events.
A short cutscene sets up more than seven minutes of gameplay; the Tier 1 operative known as "Preacher" is the playable character in this particular mission, which includes on-the-ground first-person shooting as well as the use of air support and a helicopter's Gatling gun.
Medal of Honor Warfighter hits on October 23rd on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
