Wii U owners will be able to wirelessly transfer Wii content, including Miis and games for WiiWare and Virtual Console, said Nintendo PR rep Andrew Kelly.
According to Kelly, the process is similar to transferring content from the Nintendo DS to the Nintendo 3DS, or from the 3DS to the 3DS XL. Both systems must have an internet connection, and an SD card is needed for the Wii U. Transferred Wii content will then be accessible through Wii Mode, one of the applications on the Wii U's main menu.
The Wii U will launch on November 18th in North America, followed by a European release on November 30th. Buyers will be able to puchase either the $299.99 "Basic" version, or the $349.99 Deluxe edition, which includes a free copy of Nintendoland. For Polygon's complete coverage on the Wii U, check here.
