The new issue of Japan's Famitsu magazine, the last one to hit newsstands over there until the Tokyo Game Show begins in two days, offers a few more details on the new stuff Namco Bandai is throwing into the upcoming Wii U version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, now confirmed to be launching alongside the console worldwide.

As revealed in the Nintendo Direct broadcast that president Satoru Iwata hosted over the weekend, the Wii U version of TTT2 features exclusive costumes for much of the cast themed after Nintendo characters new and old. Among the outfits revealed in Famitsu this week (some of which were already confirmed):

  • Heihachi Mishima as Mario
  • Marshall Law as Luigi
  • Anna Williams as Samus (Zero suit)
  • Hwoarang as Star Fox
  • Ganryu as Bowser
  • Armor King II as Ganondorf
  • Kazuya Mishima as Link
  • Nina Williams as Zelda

The magazine also revealed a new game mode called "Mushroom Battle" where the Mario-y power-ups featured in the Nintendo Direct footage come into play. These items are dotted around the stage, available for pickup by touching them, and they work much like you'd expect them to if you've ever played a Nintendo title. The Super Mushroom makes your character larger and more powerful, while the Giant Mushroom amplifies the effect even further. Poison mushrooms shrink your body and reduces the power of your techniques, while the Super Star makes you invincible for a period of time.

TTT2 is due out alongside the Wii U November 18 in the US.
