The PlayStation Vita in Japan is getting an app that will allow users to read manga on the device, and another app that will allow them to broadcast to Japan's Nico Nico Douga video sharing website.

The Manga Reader App allows readers to view manga in full color in a double-page spread. Users can zoom in on panels, view the manga in portrait orientation, and users will be able to purchase comics from the Sony Reader Store.

The Reader Store will open in mid-October and there will be more than 3,000 manga available at launch.

The broadcast app allows users to broadcast to Nico Nico Douga from the Vita's cameras. It has not been given a release date yet.
