An open beta for Medal of Honor Warfighter's multiplayer component is coming to Xbox 360 early next month, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.

An open beta for Medal of Honor Warfighter's multiplayer component is coming to Xbox 360 early next month, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.

The beta will include a new mode called HotSpot, which has players attack and defend points on Bosnia's Sarajevo Stadium map. Warfighter's multiplayer setup offers players a choice of 12 different Tier 1 Operators from 10 nations, including US Navy SEALs and the Russian Spetsnaz, to see whose special forces are the most elite group in the world.

Warfighter will feature Linkin Park's new military-themed song "Castle of Glass," and while the music video is set to launch five days after the beta begins, it will be released earlier if the Warfighter beta is downloaded 3 million times.

Medal of Honor Warfighter is set for release on October 23rd on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Check out our E3 preview of its multiplayer mode.

Update: We now have two screenshots from the beta's Sarajevo Stadium map. Check them out in the gallery below.

Update 2: An EA representative clarified that the Warfighter beta will be exclusive to Xbox 360. "The limited beta program is focused on one platform for Danger Close Games to test various multiplayer components in preparation for the launch on October 23 including online gameplay functionality, enhancements to the free Battlelog social network, and stress testing," said the spokesman. "The full product will be available on all three platforms, but there are no plans to release a beta for PC or PlayStation 3."
