Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer has signed on to direct and executive produce an adaption of 80s video game Spy Hunter, according to a Vulture report.
Before you get too excited that Hollywood is turning the missile-firing, oil-slick-spraying car combat game into a movie, keep in mind that this would be at least the fourth time in the past ten years that somebody has signed on to make the movie.
The last time we heard about the Warner Bros. effort was in 2010 when Chad St. John was handling the script and Dan Lin and Roy Lee were producing.
Other folks previous tied to the concept include John Woo, The Rock and Paul W.S. Anderson.
The Vulture reports that this time around Fleischer, whose other works include 30 Minutes or Less and yet-to-be-released Gangster Squad, will start from scratch on the script with a new, and yet-to-be-hired writer.
