The Binding of Isaac, Edmund McMillen's 2D action-adventure game inspired by the eponymous Biblical story, turns one year old today, and its creator is celebrating the occasion with a Steam sale and the long-awaited release of collectible figures.

The Binding of Isaac and its expansion, Wrath of the Lamb, will be available on Steam at a 75 percent discount for 24 hours, starting at 1 PM ET today. The regular prices for the game and expansion are $4.99 and $2.99, respectively, so Steam customers will be able to pick them up for a total of less than $2.

McMillen is also selling the first four collectible resin figures of Binding of Isaac characters: The Blue Baby ($30), Steven ($35), Cain ($40), and Isaac himself ($40). It's a true family project — each figure was designed, made, and hand-painted by McMillen's mother-in-law, Ann White; signed on one of its feet by McMillen; and packaged and shipped by his wife, Danielle. All other Binding of Isaac-related merchandise in the McMillens' shop is now back in stock, too.

"It was a solid year of Isaac," said McMillen, "but it's time I jumped back into Team Meat mode and [continued] work on Super Meat Boy: The Game for iOS + PC and a [yet-to-be-announced] secret game that should [surprise] a few people."

There won't be any more updates coming on The Binding of Isaac, he added, although "if all goes well maybe the adventure will continue next year on console... STAY TUNED!"
