The Assembly Kit, a toolset for modifying developer The Creative Assembly's real-time strategy game Total War: Shogun 2, is now available on Steam.
The Assembly Kit comes as part of a free title update, which includes Steam Workshop integration, allowing players to share their mods with the new Mod Manager tool. Modders can also alter the look and feel of existing units, create new units, and edit database values governing campaign start positions and game logic. Shogun 2 now allows players to create custom single players battles, and the title update includes an example created by the developers.
To celebrate the Assembly Kit's release, publisher Sega is sponsoring the Total War Weekend promotion, which is offering discounts and exclusive content through September 30th. You can check out the mods already being uploaded to the Steam Workshop here.
