Ron Gilbert's The Cave hitting Wii U eShop

The Cave coming to Wii U.

Ron Gilbert's upcoming adventure title, The Cave, will release on the Wii U eShop, DoubleFine representative Greg Price confirmed to Joystiq at this year's PAX Prime.

The adventure platformer was previously confirmed for release on PC, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade. It is scheduled to hit early next year.

While no specifics were offered regarding how the game will be implemented to Wii U, The Cave is said to combine Metroid-like platforming with Gilbert's brand of comedy.
