Indie MMORTS 'Ironfell' encourages an 'unfair approach'

Ironfell is currently in open beta and free-to-play.

A new gameplay trailer demonstrates the game's resourceful ways.

David Colquhoun's hex-tiled, massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game, Ironfell, wants to see you get the unfair advantage. A new gameplay trailer demonstrates the game's resourceful ways.

Ironfell is a time travel-themed game; players start as an explorer taken back in time to a small valley. They must gather resources to gain what the site calls "an unfair advantage over enemies," all while building and managing different units. The game currently boasts about 50 units and buildings, although upcoming expansions promise new terrains and 10 to 20 units each. Eventual expansions include castles, rockets, space elevators, Mars, and even possibly zombies.

Ironfell is currently in open beta and free-to-play, although players can choose to purchase extra resources via PayPal.
