Melbourne's Freeplay Festival announced the finalists in its game awards today, with 24 finalists being announced across eight different categories.
Melbourne's Freeplay Festival announced the finalists in its game awards today, with 24 finalists being announced across eight different categories.
The festival received 115 entries – up for 35 last year – and the judges narrowed the entries down to three in each category. The categories are: Best Audio in a Game, Best Writing in a Game, Best Technical Innovation, Best Concept Art, Best Art in a Game, Best Design in a Game, Best International Game, and Best Australian Game.
Among the finalists were escapeVektor by Nnooo, Toybox by Barrel of Donkeys, and Lunar Flight by Sean Edwards. The full list of finalists can be viewed here.
The Freeplay Festival will run from September 19th-23rd in Melbourne, Australia. Tickets can be purchased from the website.
