Genshin Impact’s latest event, “Spices from the West,” tasks you with creating spices and using them to make delicious dishes to feed your companions. The event awards a good chunk of Primogems for doing very little, so we definitely recommend taking part. Our “Spices from the West” guide explains how to quickly complete the event to collect rewards.

To play the minigame, you just need to press Space or tap/click the spoon on the ingredients in order before too much time has passed.

The event period lasts a long time. You have until the early morning of June 7 to complete the event.

How to do the Spices from the West Genshin Impact event

After unlocking the event from the marked blue quest on your map, it’s actually really easy to complete it:

  1. Tap the event compass icon.
  2. On the “Spices from the West” tab, tap “Event Details.”
  3. Make three of each recipe (a new one unlocks each day until there are seven).
  4. On the “Spices from the West” tab, tap “Use Seasoning.”
  5. Combine all your made spices with any available food item.
  6. Feed the food to characters in your Teapot.

Doing this should net you all the available rewards from the event. Notably, there are tons of Primogems to get from doing very little, so we recommend making all the different spice recipes.

Where to find specific ingredients

You’ll need a handful of ingredients like Pinecones, Snapdragons, and Horsetails, all of which can be annoying to find. Some ingredients, like Pepper and Salt, need to be purchased from general shops in major cities.

We list where to find farmable ingredients below, with help from the Genshin Impact Interactive Map.

Where to find Pinecones

Pinecones can be found all around Mondstadt’s trees, but there’s a large cluster of them around Springvale. That is to say that there are many other clusters of them around the map, like in Stormbearer Point or even on the bridge in Qingce Village.

Where to find Snapdragons

You can find lots of Snapdragons around the water of Bishui Plain. There’s also a lot along the river in Windrise if you need more.

Where to find Horsetails

Horsetails can be found plentifully on the Stone Gate path toward Wangshu Inn.
