Genshin Impact added new ascension materials: Spectral Husks, Spectral Hearts, and Spectral Nucleus. You can find them by killing Specters around two islands in Inazuma.
Our Genshin Impact guide will show you how to find Specters and collect their materials.
Specter locations
Specters are found on both Seirai Island and Watatsumi Island, mostly on the shores around the water. They normally sit in packs of about three, so once you find one, you’ll find a handful of them. You can see where they are, courtesy of Genshin Impact Interactive World Map.

Specter drops
Specter drops depend on your world level and the level of the Specters you fight.
- Specters below level 40 only drop Spectral Husks
- Specters from level 40-60 drop Spectral Hearts and Husks
- Specters at level 60 or higher drop Spectral Nucleus, in addition to Hearts and Husks
If you’re having rotten luck with Genshin Impact drops, you can always use an Alchemy Table to craft the higher rarity drops. It takes three Spectral Husks to make one Spectral Heart and three Spectral Hearts to make a Spectral Nucleus.
Specter elemental affinities
As of writing this, Specters have three different elemental affinities: Geo, Anemo, and Hydro. They’re all immune to their respective elements. As they take damage, they’ll get bigger and stronger, until they eventually die and explode.
So far, the only character that needs Spectral drops to ascend is Aloy and the only weapon that needs them is The Catch.
