In Genshin Impact, there’s a quest that only appears once you arrive on a specific unmarked island.

“Time and the Wind” will show up for any players who trek over to the island in eastern Mondstadt. Once you arrive, you’ll have to solve a bit of a puzzle to complete the quest.

You will need a character that has an Anemo ability, so make sure your Traveler is attuned to the right element, if you have no other Ameno characters.

Getting to the unmarked island

The island is far from land, so players will be unable to swim there. To get there, players can use Amber to fly from the top of Starsnatch Cliff. The island is pretty far away, meaning you’ll need more than the starting amount of stamina. Amber has a passive that lowers stamina consumption when gliding. You can also eat foods like Northern Smoked Chicken to restore stamina while you’re flying.

Players can also use Cryo characters like Kaeya to freeze the water and walk over to the island, though this will take quite a bit of time depending on the character.

Solving the quest’s puzzle

Once you arrive, you’ll want to head to the eastern part of an island. There’ll be a rocky formation by a small campsite that you can break open to find notes about the island, progressing the quest.

After interacting with the sundial, skip forward to 2 a.m. in-game. Use Elemental Sight to find a Wind Cluster and use an Ameno ability on it. This will cause the cluster to break, scattering three pieces around the island. You’ll need to use your Elemental Sight to find them, and an Ameno skill to use on them when you do. Note that that you can only find these clusters from 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. in game.

After finding the three wind clusters, you’ll need to use Ameno on the wind deposit on the middle of the island. This will prompt a fight with an Eye of the Storm, which will flee before you can kill it.

An air current will form so you can follow the Eye of the Storm, taking you to another sundial. Talk to the nearby NPC and interact with the camp behind him to continue on with the quest.

Once again you’ll need to set the in-game time to 2 a.m. and use Elemental Sight to find Wind Clusters. They’ll be directly around the sundial this time. Use Ameno abilities to get rid of them. Another wind deposit will appear for you to blast with Ameno, causing the Eye of the Storm to reappear. Kill it to finish the quest.
