How to open Criptograma Chests

There’s only one way to open a Criptograma Chest in Far Cry 6: You must find two charts in the chest’s vicinity to unlock the box. Two sigils with unique designs are on the chest. These two images represent two charts you need to find in the surrounding area. These charts match the images on the chest, and both have a number associated with them. You’ll use the combination of these digits to unlock each Criptograma Chest.

Finding charts can be a hassle, but clues leading you to the charts will always be in blue. Look for blue graffiti, blue cloth, blue flowers, and anything else in the Libertad blue that may lead you toward the charts.

The charts themselves will be pieces of cardboard with black and orange paint that share the same design as sigils on the closed chest. You’ll find them in the environment stuck to something with a sharp object like a knife or arrow.

Once you’ve located both charts, head back to the Criptograma Chest to open it up to receive unique gear.

Isla Santuario Criptograma Chest

There is only one Criptograma Chest on Isla Santuario.

Armonia Criptograma Chest

This Criptograma Chest is found in a fenced-off area northwest of Armonia in Isla Santuario > Quito > Venturia Summit. Look for a place that looks like a junkyard surrounded by guards. The chest is located on the left side of the central building in this area. Opening this chest gives you the Hazmat Gloves MK II.

The two charts you need to find are a #01 Yaran Flag and #06 Royal Palm.

The first chart can be found on top of the building where the Criptograma chest is located. Go around the left and look for the blue cloth and climb up. The next chart is in a tube behind the building to the right. Look for blue flowers outside the tube.

Madrugada Criptograma Chests

The Madrugada region has four Criptograma Chests, at El Dorado Cabins, Poesía, Verdera and Ida’s Refuge.

El Dorado Cabins Criptograma Chest

The Criptograma chest here can be found at the El Dorado Cabins which are in Madrugada > Costa Del Mar > Serpentino Park. The Criptograma Chest is located on a tower you must climb with your grappling hook. This chest gives you Rioter Boots MK II.

The two charts you need to find are a #03 Pig and #22 Dog.

From the watchtower, face south and you’ll see blue flowers leading you to the beach. Head toward the small islands in the water. You’ll see a pole and a rock with blue wrapped around them. Follow the blue graffiti and flowers to find both charts.

Poesía Criptograma Chest

This Criptograma chest can be found at the docks in Poesía which are located in Madrugada > Costa Del Mar > Aguda Cliffs. You can find a path to the chest by following some blue flowers on the southern side of the docks. This chest gives you the Rioter Gloves MK II.

The two charts you need to find are a #10 Rooster and #25 Yara Libre.

To find both charts, look out toward the ocean. You’ll see a blue arrow facing a small island on the dock. Hop on the nearby jet ski and ride to the backside of that island to find your first chart.

From there, get back on the jet ski and follow the blue markings toward the western side of Tempestad Lighthouse. You can find the other chart on a cliffside overlooking the water. Either walk up and around or use your grappling hook to get up.

Verdera Criptograma Chest

You’ll find this Criptograma Chest on top of a billboard above a gas station on the north side of the town of Verdera in Madrugada > Lozanía > Monjas Valley. Hop on top of the awning to get to the roof of the building and climb the ladder up to the chest. This chest gives you Rioter Helmet MK II.

The two charts you need to find are #16 El Trompo and #19 Sunrise Mariposa Flower.

From the chest, face south and you’ll see blue graffiti and cloth leading you toward the two charts across the rooftops. Both charts are nestled against objects on the tops of roofs. Look for a small plank of wood standing vertically with a blue dab of paint on them.

Ida’s Refuge Criptograma Chest

This Criptograma Chest is located on the balcony of an elevated shack near the vehicle spawn point at the docks at Ida’s Refuge in Madrugada > Aguas Lindas. This chest gives you Rioter Vest MK II.

The two charts you need to find are a #12 Shark and #28 Yaran Queen Butterfly.

The first chart is on a small island north of the docks in Ocaso Bay. Spawn a water vehicle at the nearby dock and ride to the island. There’s a small rocky hill near the beach. Climb that and find the chart near a post on the north side of the small hill. To get to the next chart, face east and jump off the cliff toward the waiting jet ski on the beach.

Ride the jet ski to the next island toward the east. Right next to the fishing spot, you’ll find a broken dock with orange paint and blue cloth. Dive into the shark-infested water past another plank with orange paint further down until you see one with white paint. Right next to that plank is the chart.

Valle de Oro Criptograma Chests

There are four CriptogrTama Chests in Valle de Oro, at Feroza Criptograma Chest, Segunda Criptograma Chest, Cielo Gardens Criptograma Chest, and Rubén Criptograma Chest.

Feroza Criptograma chest

This Criptograma Chest is in a fenced-off area south of the town of Feroza in Balaceras > Diamante Lakes. This chest gives you Fuego Mitts MK II.

The two charts you need to find are #04 Starfish and #23 Libertad Emblem.

The first chart is on the driver's side of a car. Look for a car near a wooden box with a pole that has blue paint on it. Destroy the pallet on the side of the car with your knife to grab the chart next to the steering wheel. The second chart is hidden inside a shipping container behind a wooden pallet. Break the wood with your knife to reveal a path inside the container. Crouch and enter. Turn around and find the chart on the wall of the container.

Segunda Criptograma chest

You can find this Criptograma Chest in a watchtower in the fields to the northwest of the town of Segunda in Cruz Del Salvador > Arroz Flatlands. This chest gives you Fuego Helmet MK II.

The two charts you need to find are #13 Cat and #29 Soursop.

Both chart locations can be seen from atop the watchtower. Once you enter the tower, turn around and you’ll see two spots of graffiti pointing left and right toward two underground entranceways. Both areas have wooden pallets that must be destroyed by exploding the barrels next to them. Inside both tunnels are the charts.

Cielo Gardens Criptograma Chest

You can find the Criptograma Chest here near the giant tower at the Cielo Gardens ruins in Noventarmas. This chest gives you Fuego Boots MK II.

The charts you’re looking for here are #09 Tarantula and #26 Boxing Gloves.

The first chart is at the top of the tower where the Criptograma Chest is located. To scale the structure, turn right from the chest following the blue cloth up a ladder toward a grapple point. Climb up and swing off at the peak to a landing below you. Inside the tower, you’ll see graffiti leading you out a window. Outside you’ll find orange vines to your left. Climb those and head to the top of the tower. At the next level up, you’ll see graffiti encouraging you to look up. Grapple to the very top of the tower to find the chart.

From the top of the tower, you can find the next chart in a smaller structure out toward the west. Dive into the water or use your wingsuit to fly across to grab the chart inside this smaller tower.

Rubén Criptograma Chest

This Criptograma Chest is along the road near the water in the town of Rubén at Barrial > Muerte Point. This chest gives you Fuego Pants MK II.

The two charts to find here are #17 Coin and #20 Mamey Sapote.

The first chart is inside a cave next to the Criptograma Chest. Look toward the water and you’ll see graffiti along the rocks pointing down to a cave in the water. At the mouth of the cave is orange netting. Throw a bomb at the netting to destroy the blockage. Swim inside and find the chart to your right on a makeshift dock.

The second chart is below the boathouse to the left of the fishing spot. Head into the water and look at where the graffiti is pointing under the dock.

El Este Criptograma Chests

There are four Criptograma Chests in El Este, at People’s Pride Clinic, Barriga, Casa Marroquín, and Concepcíon.

People’s Pride Clinic Criptograma Chest

This chest is on the roof of the People’s Pride Clinic in El Este > La Joya > Dorada Cove. You can get on top of the clinic via a large ladder on the right side of the building. This chest gives you Hazmat Pants MK II.

The two charts to find here are #18 Cigar and #21 Croco Taxi.

The first chart is on the roof of one of the larger apartments in the Sendrowski Housing Blocks. Go to the south side of this building and use your grapple to get to the roof. From the south side of the building, use the nearby zipline to cross over the courtyard to the building’s north side. You’ll find the chart near an orange chair.

The second chart is in the abandoned apartment complex north of the first chart. Head to the back of the building and climb the construction awning up to the roof. You’ll find the chart on a metal cylinder.

Barriga Criptograma Chest

This chest is found on the side of the shack with a bird on top in Barriga > Sierra Perdida > Nueva Vida. This chest gives you Hazmat Suit MK II.

The two charts to find here are #14 Horse and #30 Domino.

The first chart can be found is across the water in the north on a shack at Cauto de Paso Lagoon. Look for it near the bass fishing spot.

The other chart is across the lagoon on a small shack along the water in the west.

Casa Marroquín Criptograma Chest

This chest is located on top of Casa Marroquín in El Este > Sierra Perdida > Savannah Fields. This chest gives you Hazmat Mask MK II.

The charts you need to find here are #07 El Cocodrilo and #27 Tocororo.

The first chart is in an enclosed shack on the western side of Hígado Lake. Break the door with the blue paint to find the chart inside. The second chart is on an inner wall of a small shack to the southeast of the first chart.

Concepcíon Criptograma Chest

You can find this chest on a rooftop on the northwest side of town. Look for a building with a grapple point and head up. From there, take the zipline across to the chest. This box contains Hazmat Shoes MK II.

The two charts here are #05 Machete and #24 Chalice.

You can find the first chart by following the arrow near the chest. Take a running leap off the roof onto the shorter building ahead of you. Walk across that roof and drop into the courtyard. Turn right and you’ll see the chart in a lit stall against the wall.

Exit the stall and head up the stairs directly outside of them. On the roof, walk around to the zipline on the other side of the roof. When you land, look towards where the graffiti is pointing and you’ll see the chart on the roof of the autobody shop.

Esperanza Criptograma Chests

There are two Criptograma Chests in Esperanza, at Siete Pájaros Apartments and La Divinidad Cathedral.

Siete Pájaros Apartments Criptograma Chest

This chest is located in an alleyway near the Siete Pájaros Apartments in Esperanza > West Lado. This chest gives you the Fuego Coat MK II.

The charts you are looking for are #08 Car Clásico and #15 El Flamenco.

From the chest location, turn left and use the grapple point next to you to ascend to a balcony. Climb the ladder onto to the roof and follow the graffiti to your right to a balcony below you toward the first chart. For the second chart, look to your right and use the zipline to go across to another balcony. From there, climb the vines to your right to find the second chart on a wall.

La Divinidad Cathedral Criptograma Chest

In the courtyard of La Divinidad Cathedral, you’ll find a grapple point near some red graffiti. Go up to the roof from there. Take a running leap across the rooftops toward some blue graffiti. The chest is behind the wall with graffiti. This chest gives you Rioter Pants MK II.

The two charts you must find here are #02 La Guitarra and #11 Rum.

From the chest location, hop over the wall and follow the blue cloth across to another roof. Follow that path until you can jump across to the cathedral. The first chart is on a wall. From the chart, turn to your right and enter the cathedral through the door next to you.

When you enter the cathedral, your goal is to exit through the door on the opposite side. Sneak along the walls and along the construction to get to the other side. If you fall, there’s a grapple point near where you entered from.

Once you’re through the door on the other side, follow the path along until you find a ramp leading to a rooftop garden with vines. Jump across, climb the vines, and find the last chart on a wall.
