Cookie Run: Kingdom Toppings boost your team’s stats. Toppings are one of the most important aspects of combat. Our Cookie Run: Kingdom Toppings guide explains how Toppings work, the best Toppings for specific cookie types, and where to find Toppings.

Cookie Run: Kingdom Toppings, explained

Toppings are the equipment system in Cookie Run: Kingdom. They give your cookies additional stats. Each cookie can equip five Toppings, with a new Topping slot unlocking every fifth level from levels 15-30.

Toppings have sets, so if you equip a certain number (typically three or five) of the same Topping, you’ll get some bonus stats. For example, your Searing Raspberry Topping will give you ATK, but as you upgrade it, it may get Cooldown, HP, or other stats as a little bonus.

All Toppings have a size rating: XS, S, and M. (There are no L or XL Toppings. It stops at M.) The bigger the Topping size, the better stats it has and the more it you can upgrade it.

These significantly boost your power level, so it’s important to put the best Toppings possible on your cookies.

Toppings farming

You can find Toppings mainly from doing Balloon Expeditions and from completing levels. Harder levels and higher tiers of Balloon Expeditions reward better Toppings.

If you’re looking to farm one specific type of Topping, you can look at the levels that you have access to and run those repeatedly until you get the Toppings you need.

Upgrading with Topping Pieces and Coins

When you tap on the Topping, you have the option to equip, remove, or to upgrade it. Higher rarity toppings can be upgraded to higher levels. At upgrade levels 6, 9, and 12, they’ll gain a random bonus stat.

Doing this costs Topping Pieces and Coins, with each upgrade getting more expensive as you go. After you upgrade the Topping twice, there’s a small chance that the upgrade will fail, and you’ll lose the Topping Pieces and Coins in the process. As you keep upgrading, the success rate will decrease. You can auto-upgrade your Toppings if you have lots of Topping Pieces and Coins. This will rapidly keep attempting to upgrade them until it works.

You can find Topping Pieces from the same places you find Toppings (mainly from doing Balloon Expeditions and completing levels). You can also break down Toppings you don’t want into Topping Pieces.

Which Toppings are the best?

Each cookie has their best set of Toppings, but with so many cookies getting constantly added to the game, it can be hard to keep up. Generally, cookies of the same type use the same Toppings. We’ve outlined the best Toppings per cookie type below:

  • Ambush cookies: Searing Raspberry Toppings
  • Bomber cookies: Searing Raspberry or Swift Chocolate Toppings
  • Charge cookies: Solid Almond, mixed with Swift Chocolate or Searing Raspberry Toppings
  • Defense cookies: Solid Almond, mixed with Swift Chocolate Toppings
  • Healing cookies: Searing Raspberry or Swift Chocolate Toppings
  • Magic cookies: Searing Raspberry and/or Swift Chocolate Toppings
  • Ranged cookies: Searing Raspberry or Swift Chocolate Toppings
  • Support cookies: Searing Raspberry and/or Swift Chocolate Toppings

While this will give you ideas for building, you can check out specific recommended Toppings by cookie on the Cookie Run: Kingdom wiki. A handful of cookies don’t play by the above rules. That includes Twizzly Gummy Cookie, for whom players recommend Juicy Apple Jelly and Searing Raspberry Toppings.
