In this Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy foggy cave Chapter 10 guide, we’ll show you how to escape. This encounter against the Face of a Thousand Lies can feel like it’s impossible to fight through (because it is). We’ll explain how to destroy the source of the fog and convince Rocket to enter the small fissure in the game.
Escape the foggy cave
INTERACTIVE
SMALL FISSURE
Small opening created by fast-flowing underground stream. High probability of drowning if entered.
As you travel through the subterranean sections of Lamentis, fog surrounds your team and you have to fight various enemies from earlier chapters. Eventually, you’ll have to fight a nearly endless wave of enemies modeled after you and your team.
After a few minutes of fighting, Mantis will mention how the evil must be destroyed “from within.” Heed her message by sending Rocket to destroy the source of the fog.

- Scan the fissure. It’s on the left side of the arena in which you’re fighting.
- Command Rocket to enter the fissure on the left. This will take Rocket out of the fight for a few moments only leaving you, Gamora, and Groot to fend for yourselves as Drax is under the mind control of Mantis during this fight. A few moments after Rocket enters the cave, he’ll blow up half of the statue face that is filling the room with fog.
- Ask Rocket to enter the water-filled fissure on the right. Rocket has a fear of water, so he won’t enter. As the battle continues, the fog will capture your teammates, leaving less of you to fight the onslaught of enemies.
- Keep interacting with the small fissure. First Groot will be taken out of battle. Once he’s gone, interact with the hole again. A few moments later, Gamora will be taken out of battle, leaving only Star-Lord and Rocket left to fight. Interact with the watery hole one more time. At this point, Rocket will finally enter making Star-Lord the only fighter left.

Eventually, Rocket will set off another bomb exposing a green object that Star-Lord can grapple onto with his wind power from his blasters. Yank the final parts of the statue down to escape the foggy cave.
