Halo Infinite Skull location map
There are 12 Halo Infinite Skulls. You can find some of the Skulls as you explore the open landscape of Zeta Halo. Several are only available during missions, and you’ll only get one chance to grab them since you can only play each mission once per save file.
Below we’ve listed the location or mission in which each Skull appears. Along with the Skull’s name and location, our table below details what each Skull does when activated.

You can see the Skulls you’ve found in Halo Infinite’s Database > Skulls menu. How do you find a Skull? Use your scanner, and look for the outline of a Skull.
Boom Skull (Halo Infinite first Skull)
Location: Warship Gbraakon
Effect: Doubles explosion radius
Behold, the Temple of Boom.
Halo Infinite’s first skull is in its first mission: Warship Gbrakkon. After you head outside the ship, take the elevator up, and head through a few more hallways, you’ll come to a hallway filled with five or so Jackyls. The Boom Skull is in the next room, which you can see in the following screenshot.
It’s full of Brutes and Grunts, so clear them out first. Make sure to clear both levels of the room.
You can actually see the Boom Skull’s location as soon as you enter the room, though you have to be closer to the Skull before your scanner will pick it up. We jumped up to the second level, scanned, and hopped back down to the entrance to get the image above, showing the Skull relative to the entrance. (Don’t stand at the entrance and scan for the Boom Skull is what we’re saying.)
So jump up to the second level, and look up and to the right (with your back to the entrance). Press down on the D-pad to scan, and look for the outline of a skull. Ride the nearby elevator-like contraption up, and you’ll find the Boom Skull sitting in a little alcove.
Cowbell Skull (Halo Infinite Foundation Skull)
Effect: Acceleration from explosions is increased.
Because we needed more Cowbell.
Fight your way through the crumbling Foundation until you pick up The Weapon in an exposition-filled cutscene. At the end of the long elevator ride, continue past the hallucination holograms into the next room. The Skull is high above you.
Use your scanner (down on the D-pad) to find it — it’s near the front of the room. You’ll have to get a little creative with your Grappleshot to reach this Skull, but it’s possible.
Location: Zeta Halo
Effect: Enemies throw and drop more grenades.
Hold these for us.
This Skull isn’t tied to a mission, so you can collect it at any point. You might want to save this Skull for a little later in your playthrough because it’s guarded by a pair of Hunters.
Head to the island to the north of Outpost Terminus. The skull is nestled inside a tree trunk at the far end of the canyon.
Location: Zeta Halo Surface
Effect: Disables motion tracker.
They could be anywhere.
It’s possible to grab this Skull with an upgraded Grappleshot (as you can see in the video below), but it’s much easier to take a Wasp. Head to the western side of the open-world map, and look along the coast southeast of the Foundation and southwest of FOB Alpha.
Inside these columns is a small opening where the Fog Skull is resting on a hexagonal pedestal. The video above shows how to collect the Fog Skull with an upgraded Grappleshot.
I Would Have Been Your Daddy / IWHBYD (Halo Infinite Tower Skull)
Location: The Tower
Effect: Rare combat dialogue becomes more common.
Did they really just say that?
Again, the easiest way to find this Skull is by taking a Wasp to the top of The Tower — which means you’ll have to wait until you’ve unlocked it at a FOB before you can reach it. It’s also possible to grab it with an upgraded Grappleshot, but it’ll take a little practice (and you can see the result of our practice in the video below).
No matter how you get there, the collectible is sitting on a crate on the platform on the roof of The Tower.
The video above shows how we got this Skull with the Grappleshot. You’ll need to upgrade it to the second level, Quickshot. Climb the Tower from the outside along one of the supports. At the top, Grappleshot onto the platform away from the Tower, and hold the left thumbstick to the side to adjust your flight. At the top of your arc, Grappleshot back to the platform and grab the Skull.
Location: Zeta Halo Surface
Effect: HUD and weapon do not display on screen.
Great for shooting photos, bad for shooting enemies.
In the southwest of the map, there’s a long canyon that runs roughly north-south along the Lockdown region. In about the center of the island, look for the Carrera Squad icon and trace a line south to the canyon. If you have access to the Wasp, it’s a quick trip, but it’s possible on foot as well.
Work your way around to the west side of the canyon and follow it until you see the boulder lodged between the sides — when you get close, you’ll see a downed squad of Marines scattered on top.
The Skull is on a ledge below you. If you use your scanner, you’ll also see a rocket launcher nearby. Drop down and Grappleshot to the ledge to claim the Blind Skull.
Location: Zeta Halo Surface
Effect: Upgrades the rank of most enemies.
Promotions for everybody.
After you complete “Pelican Down," you’ll have access to the Reformation island in the south. Starting at FOB Juliet, follow the road north to the canyon between Reformation and Graveyards (where “Pelican Down” took place). Near the Beacon here, there’s an extremely high peak (With a UNSC Audio Log at the top).
Just southeast of there, look for a tall, narrow spire. You’ll have to get pretty comfortable with the Grappleshot, but it’s possible to climb the hexagonal spires like in the video above. The Thunderstorm Skull is on top of the highest spire.
Black Eye Skull
Location: Zeta Halo Surface
Effect: Your shields only recharge when you melee enemies.
Better get punchy.
On the southern island (Reformation), there’s a waterfall along the south side of the road about halfway between FOB Juliet and Riven Gate Banished Outpost. There’s a hidden tunnel about halfway up the waterfall on the right side.
You can’t see the tunnel from the outside, so it’ll take a few tries to find it. Grappleshot up, and crouch to pass through the tunnel. The Black Eye Skull is in a cave at the other end.
Location: Zeta Halo Surface
Effect: Weapons dropped by enemies have half the ammo they normally would.
On the eastern side of Zeta Halo is a small island. It’s due east-southeast of FOB November and south of the easternmost Beacon. The only way to reach it is with a Wasp. Near the top of that island’s peak, look for a dead Elite holding the Famine Skull.
Location: The Command Spire
Effect: Enemies have increased health.
Becuase it wasn’t hard enough.
Once you complete the Nexus main story mission, you’ll ride a grav lift up to the Command Spire — which is where that mission begins. After a bit of fighting, you’ll teleport to an area where pieces of hexagon pillars (Ring alloy?) are being floated around. After some more fighting, you’ll grav lift up to where the pillars are being floated horizontally.
Follow the pillars forward to where they make a right turn. Grappleshot up above the pillars to find a ring-shaped walkway you can climb onto, and then climb up another level. There’s an open hallway there. Follow it to collect the Mythic Skull.
Grunt Birthday Party Skull
Location: The Repository
Effect: Grunt headshots lead to glorious celebrations.
Maybe it’s the methane?
Play through the Repository level until you come to the room with a hardlight bridge leading to a console, and doors to the right and left — like in the image above.
In this room, interact with the central console and watch the cutscene. Head back to the first platform and turn to the right. Use the wall to grappleshot across to the platform there. Head through the hallway and collect the power seed at the other end.
Take the power seed back to the main room, and cross the hardlight bridge to the far side. Turn to the left and grappleshot to the other platform. Take the hallway, and place the power seed in the receiver off to the right. This opens a room a bit later in the Repository.
Return to the hardlight bridge and continue with the mission. Before long, the Weapon will direct your attention to a window. After that, push through two more rooms.
In the third room, the Grunt Birthday Party Skull is above you and directly ahead. Be careful climbing up, though, because this Skull is guarded by four cloaked Elites.
Location: The Silent Auditorium
Effect: Grants unlimited ammo and grenades, and removes equipment cooldown.
We did say Infinite.
You have to be careful (and a little reckless) to collect this Skull. It’s only available if you complete the Silent Auditorium main story mission without destroying any Sentinels. There is really only one area where you’ll run into any, but it’s in the middle of a huge firefight against Banished forces, so you’ll need to be careful with your aim.
The easiest way to make sure you don’t accidentally hit any Sentinels is to run — when the Sentinels show up, make your way through the area as quickly as you can and get out. There’s no hacking required, so the door will be open for you.
Continue through the level until you meet up with Adjutant Resolution again. Shortly after, you’ll have to activate a couple of hardlight bridges. Your HUD marker will try to lead you to the left. Instead, go straight. In the next room, you’ll see a few destroyed Sentinels. If you didn’t destroy any Sentinels, the Bandana Skull will be on the pillar above you.
