In this Hitman 3 guide, we’ll walk you through every Mission Story in Chongqing, China, during the “End of an Era” Mission, including “All-Seeing Eyes,” “Certainty Principle,” and “Impulse Control.” Below, we’ve got maps showing where to start, important items to find, where every clue is, and every location you’ll need to visit.
Table of contents
One down, several to go.
So, one of Imogen Royce’s drones is down. If you find and scan it, maybe I can get something useful out of its chip.
Hitman 3’s “All-Seeing Eyes” Mission Story requires Agent 47 to find a sniper rifle and use Imogen Royce’s surveillance drones to draw out both targets.
To pick up this Mission Story, you’ll need to make your way to the Glorious Leap Sign on Level 5. From the Train Station, follow the walkway to its end. Take the stairs ahead of you up to Yuzhong Square.
Directly ahead of you across the street, head into the apartment building. Take the stairs inside up to the roof.
On the roof, head to the northwest corner, and vault the wall. Cross to the other building and follow the balcony to the left. At the end, vault the railing, and use the pipe to climb up to the next roof.
Stay crouched at the top since you’re trespassing now. Head to the left. There’s a brick near one of the A/C units. Grab that, and use it to knock out the street guard in the corner. There’s a crate to the west to stash him in. Pick up his sniper rifle — you’ll need that in a second. (While you’re here, head to the northwest corner of this roof, under the stairs, to find a crowbar — you don’t need it, but they’re always good to have.)
Take the stairs to the north, or the pipe next to the crate, all the way up to the Glorious Leap Sign.
You’ll spot a crashed drone and pick up the “All-Seeing Eyes” Mission story.
Hack the drone using your camera//Find a sniper rifle
Pull out your camera and point it at the drone to hack it. You’ve already got the sniper rifle.
Shoot down a drone//Shoot more drones//Shoot the remaining drones
Your next task is to shoot down a drone, followed by the rest of them — there’s a total of five. From your vantage point under the Glorious Leap sign, face east-southeast and look across to the Southeastern Rooftop area.
Your sniper rifle scope has zoom capability, so hit up on the D-pad a couple of times to zoom in. Wait for each drone to finish its left-right patrol pattern so it’s not moving when you fire.
Listen in on Royce//Avoid guard patrols
When the last drone drops, you’ll overhear another call from Royce. She’ll deploy guards to your roof.
Hang off the roof over by the crashed drone and wait out the guard patrol that shows up. When one steps over into the gap where you’re hiding, attack him and toss him over the edge. When the guards are gone, resume your perch by the sign.
Shoot the drones near the block//Listen in on Royce
Take out the two new drones that show up — they’re in roughly the same area as the ones before. If you have trouble spotting them, just look for their telltale green scanning lights.
Wait for the meetup at the Lotus Passage
After the phone call, both Royce and Hush will arrange to meet at the Lotus Passage. That will complete the “All-Seeing Eyes” Mission Story.
You’ve got a sniper rifle and two targets about to be in the open, so …
The Lotus Passage is directly ahead of you on the far side of the map — look for the neon lotus sign. Your sniper rifle will let you zoom in enough to spot your quarry (quarries?).
Listen to their argument, and take them out.
Discover the inner workings of the ICA facility.
So, someone is here for a tour of the facility. Might be a way to get in.
Hitman 3’s “Certainty Principle” Mission Story requires Agent 47 to take the role of Mr. Pritchard, an ICA board member, during his tour of the facility in Chongqing.
We’re going to do some prep work here — grabbing a disguise and an item you’ll need later — before picking up the Mission Story. This will save you a lot of running around later.
From Yuzhong Square in the center of the map, head into the apartment building along the northeast corner. Take the stairs all the way to the roof.
Up top, face north and look for a gap in the wall. Drop through it, and slide down the pipe. Shimmy right along the ledge, and hop through the window into the ICA Apartment.
Head down the hall on your right and into the bedroom. Listen to the answering machine to learn that Mr. Pritchard’s entry code for the facility is 0118. Pick up the P41 form under the foot of the bed. (This is also a good place to dump any illegal weapons you have — you’ll be getting frisked in a few minutes.)
Head out the apartment’s front door and into the stairwell. Take it back up to the roof.
This time, head to the northwest corner, and cross to the balcony (this is the same route you follow in “All-Seeing Eyes” above). Take the balcony to the left all the way to the end. Jump the railing and climb the pipe.
At the top, take out the sniper if you want (you don’t have to). Your goal is the door into the building directly behind him (just to the south of the crate where you’ll likely hide his body). Open that door and head down the stairs.
Crouch when you reach Level 2. There are two guards in a room. Keep to the left wall, and put on the dumpling cook disguise (you’ll get the Dumplings Cook Discovery Challenge).
Continue past the guards and take the stairs all the way down to the Laundromat.
Take a right and cross Yuzhong Square heading south. Enter the building on the south side, and take the stairs up to the Restaurant.
Grab a seat on the bench and listen to the nearby conversation to start the “Certainty Principle” Mission Story.
Listen in on the conversation
Keep your seat until the pair are done talking. We already grabbed the P41 form, so you won’t get that objective.
On her way out, Chen Ting will mention that Pritchard is starving. Let’s do something about that.
Disguise yourself at the board member
Go through the door on the east side of the restaurant into the bathroom. Pick up the emetic rat poison from the stool on your right, and then climb through the window on your left. Shimmy a little to the left, and then climb through the window into the kitchen.
Head to the closest workstation, and prepare some food. When it’s ready, poison it, and then ring the bell. Duck back out the window and position yourself outside the bathroom.
One of the other cooks will take your (poisoned) food to Mr. Pritchard, and you’ll get the A Hair in My Soup Feat Challenge. Wait for him to rush into the bathroom, and subdue or drown him. Put on the board member disguise, and stash Pritchard’s body in the laundry bin.
Talk to the guide//Follow the guide//Give the P41 form to the facility guide
Head back through the Restaurant and its kitchen to find your guide. Let her know you’re ready. Follow her into the ICA Facility. Hand over the P41 form when she asks for it (much later).
Approach the guards to get frisked
While she’s setting up, you’ll need to get rid of anything illegal you’ve acquired before you go through the frisk. There are two trash cans where you can hide weapons, and an out-of-the-way server room to the south of you where you can dump anything else.
When you’re clean, head for the frisking.
Follow the guide
Rejoin the guide and continue your tour. She’ll lead you to the Vetting Room, where you’ll have a brief panic about your ID. Use your camera to darken the glass on your left. When it’s opaque, hack the laptop right there to straighten out your ID.
Rejoin the guide again, and she’ll lead you to Imogen Royce.
Follow Royce//Listen to Royce
Follow Imogen as she gives you her spiel. When she gives you control over the demonstration, you’ll complete the “Certainty Principle” Mission Story.
While you’re here, though, let’s use the system to cause some problems.
- Fire Alicia Reynolds as soon as you can. She’ll turn off the safety mechanisms.
- Fire Jeremy Bolt next, right after Alicia. He’ll hop on the phone immediately, and will distract Royce’s own bodyguard.
- Keep an eye on the security camera feeds, and fire Sharon Reed when you see Royce inside the Data Core room.
If you time it right (it’s very tricky), you’ll take out Royce while earning the Human Error Feat Challenge and the Medium Rare Assassination Challenge.
Change Your Future — Join the Experiment
That’s got Hush written all over it. Using the desperate for personal gain. Maybe this is a way for you to get to the bastard.
Hitman 3’s “Impulse Control” Mission Story requires Agent 47 to take the role of a homeless person and take part in Hush’s experiments. Eliminating Hush afterward is a bit of a pain, so we’re going to add a few steps to this Mission Story. This way, we’ll earn you a couple of Challenges and eliminate Hush without a lot of drama.
From Yuzhong Square, take the road east and up the ramp. At the top, take a left. You’ll spot a few homeless people having a conversation around a trash can fire under an overhang. Hear them out to start the “Impulse Control” Mission Story.
As you approach, grab the Future Progress Initiative flyer from the pallets, and then circle around the trio to grab a crowbar from behind them (you’ll need this in a minute).
Disguise yourself as a homeless person
Wait for the three to part ways. One will wander off down the street, the woman will stay where she is, and the third will step away to have a drink of water. Subdue him while he’s drinking, grab his clothes, and stash him in the crate to your left. Pick up the Future Progress Initiative flyer he drops.
Find the entrance to the homeless shelter
You’re looking for somewhere with the same symbol as the flyer the homeless person was carrying.
Head back down the ramp toward the square. At the bottom, turn right and you’ll be facing an alley. On the right side, you’ll see some graffiti with the symbol and The Block painted on the wall.
Head to the end of that alley and up the stairs. At the top, turn right and into The Block.
If you have anything illegal on you, you’ll want to get rid of it — you’re going to be frisked in a second. There’s a trash can around the corner to your left if you need to stash something.
Follow the guard//Get frisked//Wait for your turn//Take a seat
A couple of guards will greet you. Let one frisk you, and follow the other up the stairs. He’ll lead you to a waiting room.
Before you take your seat, grab the Future Progress Initiative flyer from the bulletin board to earn the Last Resort Discovery Challenge.
Sit in one of the chairs and wait.
You’ll get called over and told there’s no room for you. Take an apple when offered (you don’t need it for anything, but it’d be rude not to), and then let the guard lead you all the way back to the alley.
Find the test subject on the top floor
When you reach the alley, take a right and follow the building around to the right. A little way down the alley — watch for a civilian on the left side — there’s a pipe on the right. Climb up, and hop through the open window.
Take a left, and use your crowbar to pry open the gate. Take the stairs up.
At the top of the stairs, crouch and cross the hallway. There are three guards in the Derelict Apartments ahead of you. Only one is moving around, through, so just wait until that guy turns his back.
Cut through the apartment heading left (south), and then cross to the door along the right side. This will put you on a balcony. Turn right, and follow the balcony to the next door. Back inside, follow the hall all the way to the far end — just watch for the guards and use the walls and furniture for cover.
At the end of the hall, you’ll find a fuse cell on your left. Pick it up, and then climb out the window.
Climb the pipe up to the next floor and climb through the window. Turn right, and follow the hallway all the way to the far end again. There are a few researchers here, but you can slip past them easily. Go through the door at the end of the hall, and follow the balcony around to the second door.
Through that door, cut straight across the examination room, and turn left into the (surprisingly dingy) bathroom. Put on the researcher disguise you find there.
The next goal is to distract the enforcer researcher just around the corner. Step out of the bathroom, and overflow the sink. Go back into the bathroom and wait for a researcher to investigate. The first one won’t be the enforcer, so subdue him and dump him in the laundry bin.
Overflow the sink again. This time, the enforcer should come investigate (if she doesn’t, repeat the process one more time with the other researcher out of the way). Don’t subdue her, though (she has a role to play in the Mission Story’s ending).
Walk out of the bathroom to the right. Grab the lethal poison pill jar from her station, and continue north across the floor. Turn right, and take the stairs up again.
At the top of the stairs, watch for the security camera and turn left.
The next three steps will kill Hush after you complete the Mission Story. It’s easiest to get them out of the way now.
Cross to the west side of Hush’s Private Lab. Look for a whiteboard with a code written on it — 2552. Head through the door a little south and onto yet another balcony.
Turn left, and poison the ventilation system with the lethal poison pill jar. Turn around and head north along the walkway. Use the door code (2552) to unlock it.
There are two people inside, a researcher and a guard. The guard will keep his back turned, so subdue the researcher and stuff him in the nearby cabinet. Put the fuse cell into the fusebox.
Now, Hush will die after you complete the Mission Story.
Use the balcony walkway to return to Hush’s Private Lab.
Disguise yourself as the test subject//Inform the researcher that you are ready
Cut across to the east, and look for an unmarked bathroom — it’s over by where you entered this floor.
Step inside that bathroom, subdue the perfect test subject, and put on his disguise. Stash him in the cabinet.
Walk back into the lab, and approach the researcher. Tell Junli you’re ready to start testing.
Wait for everyone to arrive//Take a seat
Over the next couple minutes or so, you’ll have to wait for both Hush and a researcher named Sister Lei to arrive (she’s the one we spared earlier). When they’re there, take your seat to complete the “Impulse Control” Mission Story.
After his failure, Hush will head to his sensory deprivation machine. When he activates it, though, he’ll get poisoned, and you’ll earn the Deprivation Assassination Challenge as you escape.
If you’ve completed another Mission Story during a run, it seems like Hush will get stuck in his chair and never head for his sensory deprivation chamber. If this happens, throw something (out of sight) to trigger someone nearby to investigate. This seems to knock him loose.
