There are 10 Survey Drone Modules across the world of Horizon Forbidden West. You’ll find one each in Plainsong, No Man’s Land, The Greenswell, The Dry Yearn, The Stillsands, The Sheerside Mountains, The Graypeak, Stand of the Sentinels, Thornmarsh, and Isle of Spires. Collecting a Survey Drone module requires you to complete a quick climbing challenge and then jump onto the drone to retrieve its data.

While you might find one early in the game while exploring The Daunt, you won’t be able to do anything with them until you complete the “Death’s Door,” Horizon Forbidden West’s fifth Main Quest. Explaining what happens after that requires some necessary spoilers, so we’ll reveal all below this image.

Once you have the Base set up, head to the room where GAIA hangs out. Behind her and to the left, you’ll find the PSiCLOPS console.

Whenever you collect a module, return to this console and chose the connect survey drone module option. This will display a holographic version of the drone’s territory on the Base’s dome. Any time you want a change of background, you can call up the images again.
