In this Horizon Forbidden West War Totem guide, we’ll show you the map location of all three God of War War Totem secret collectibles and show you the Face Paint you earn as a reward for collecting all three.

Horizon Forbidden West’s War Totems are small, wooden totems that depict Kratos (Totem of War), Atreus (Totem of Youth), and Brok and Sindri (Totems of Brotherhood) from God of War.

There are three War Totems to collect in Horizon Forbidden West (one of the locations has a pair of totems).

Just west of the western exit to the Sheerside Mountains Sunken Cavern, look for a Sunwing Machine Site near the top of a waterfall. On the north side of the river, there’s a small cabin — you can see it if you zoom all the way in on the map.

When you reach the cabin, you’ll have to deal with a couple Sunwings and a Stalker, so be ready. Once they’re out of the way, look in the shed-like area on the right side of the cabin for the Totem of War.

All the way to the southwest of the map is an area called the Isle of Spires. Look for the Stormbird Machine Site in the northwest of the main island.

Just east of the Stormbird site, there’s a rusted out school bus. A little south of that, there’s another school bus under a rusty metal ruin with a grapple point on it. Climb up to the top of the ruin to find the Totem of Youth.

In the southeast of the map, there’s a small island in the lake there not far from the entrance to The Spinebreak tunnel. There’s a Frost Glinthawk Machine Site at the top of the rocky island.

On the shore of the lake just north of that island, you’ll find a dead Widemaw with a Heavy Hammer embedded in its head. Examine the Hammer and you’ll be able to highlight a track. Follow that track around to the east side of the island to find the Totems of Brotherhood in a small cave there.

Once you’ve collected all three War Totems, you’ll earn the Mark of War Face Paint. Head to a Tenakth settlement and find the Painter where you’ll be able to apply the Mark of War Face Paint for 10 Shards.
