Liam’s loyalty missions in Mass Effect: Andromeda aren’t like the loyalty missions of anyone else on your team. They’re a collection of missions that don’t have anything to do with Liam directly, and, chances are, you won’t even notice you’re completing them. Also, they don’t actually have to involve Liam — which could be a good thing depending on your opinion of him.

You’ll start once you head to Havarl as part of the “A Trail of Hope” main storyline mission, and you’ll complete it — and earn Liam’s loyalty — by evaluating Havarl and three other planets for outposts. Havarl doesn’t actually get an outpost — you just get invited to visit by the angarans in charge, but that’s apparently enough for Liam.
Havarl

The two missions required to evaluate Havarl to Liam’s liking are both easy to find — the first is required as part of the main storyline, and the second flows directly from the first. We wrote about both in our “A Trail of Hope” walkthrough and our “A Dying Planet” Heleus assignment mission walkthrough.
- Helping Havarl’s Scientists. Freeing the scientists that got themselves trapped is your first step to gaining the trust of the angara.
- A Dying Planet. This is where you go to turn on Havarl’s vault, but there’s a lot of steps you have to go through before you get there.
Voeld

Unlike Havarl, Voeld requires a bit more work to settle (as do the next two planets as well). Settling Voeld means you have to take on the kett a couple times and turn on Voeld’s monoliths and vault. Then you’ll have to talk to Eska Yeveth to get permission to set down an Initiative base.
Here’re the missions that will get you there:
- Stage a Rescue. We covered this one here. Your job is to attack a kett facility and free the angarans inside.
- Remove the Heart. After you rescue the captives from the kett base in “Stage a Rescue,” you’ll be directed to the settlement of Techiix, where you’ll get pointed at another kett base. This is a big fight to get through.
- Restoring a World. This is Voeld’s monoliths and vault mission. Travel to the three monoliths, then activate and escape the vault.
Kadara

Settling on Kadara is a big project because you have to play detective for the problems that already exist on Kadara and then pick sides in the ongoing power struggle between the Outcasts and the Collective.
- A People Divided. The roekaar are causing problems on Kadara as well.
- Precious Cargo. You’ll have to help Reyes with some of his shady dealings.
- Behind Enemy Lines. The turian head of security will tell you about some kett sightings out in the Badlands, and you’ll have to help him deal with them.
- Modern Medicine. In the Kadara slums, you’ll meet a doctor whose formula for a medicine has been stolen and is now being used to make drugs.
- Night on the Town. Go to a party at Sloane’s with Reyes.
- High Noon. This is the culmination of the power struggle on Kadara. You’ll have to choose sides here, but either decision will still let you place an outpost on the planet.
- Healing Kadara’s Heart. Turn on Kadara’s monoliths and vault.
Elaaden

To get Elaaden ready for a colony, you’ll have to sort out some krogan colony drama and get Elaaden’s monoliths and vault turned on. The remnant drive that you claim at the end of the krogan storyline has to be handed over to Morda to ensure peace on Elaaden and bring the krogan back into the Initiative. Besides, it’s just the right thing to do.
- Conflict in the Colony. This is the side mission that you got that brought you to Elaaden in the first place.
- Parlay with the Krogan. Your krogan contact will imply that Morda is going to build a bomb with the drive core out of the crashed remnant ship.
- Investigate the Remnant Relic. You’ll have to fight your way through the crashed remnant ship that you found sticking up out of the desert.
- Search for the Stolen Remnant Drive. The drive core has been moved a bunch of times since it was removed from the ship. You’ll have to chase it across the desert.
- Taming the Desert. The last step is to turn on Elaaden’s monoliths and vault.
