Monster Hunter Rise guide: Lava Caverns collectible relic records locations

Scattered around Monster Hunter Rise’s maps like Lava Caverns are collectible messages called relic records. Both messages and rampage messages look like notes tied to swords stuck in the ground. Approach them, and on-screen text says “old message.”

In this Monster Hunter Rise collectibles guide, we’ll show you the location of every Lava Caverns message and rampage message. Our numbered maps correspond to your in-game notebook, and our screenshots show all relic records locations.

When you collect all old messages in an area, Kagero the Merchant rewards you with decorations for your room. Find all Lava Caverns old messages, and you’ll get an Aknosom carving and a Rakna-Kadaki carving, both of which you can see in the screenshot above.

From the main camp, use your Wirebugs to jump up to the left side of the stone entrance way. The relic record is on top of the left pillar.

Scale this small cliff in this area right above the mining outcrop to find the relic record.

Climb up the pillar in this cavern to reach a hidden cave at the very top with a few mining outcrops and a relic record.

Find the pillar with the flat top near the smaller platform with the bushes. Use your Wirebugs to scale the pillar. The relic record is on the top.

Head to the lower cave entrance between areas 10 and 12.

Go down one level and turn around to face the way you came. To your right is a barely noticeable hole in the wall. Keep an eye on the grooves in the wall to find the path up. Use your Wirebugs to scale the wall and grab the relic record inside.

Climb up this short wall near the lava flow. Inside is a cavern with ruins. The relic record is to the left of the dilapidated structure.

Find the hidden cave in this area near the Permabuffer. Enter the cave and look up and to your right. You’ll find a small opening at the top. Scale the wall and follow the tunnel out and to your left. Follow the path all the way down to find the rampage message at the end of the path.
