There are several ways to boost your attack and defense in Monster Hunter Rise. One of the easiest is forging new armor and weapons. You can also create new decorations to boost certain skills. However, if you have a lot of zenny and can take down one of the game’s hardest monsters, you can create two sets of powerful items: the Armortalon and Powertalon.
In this Monster Hunter Rise guide, we’ll show you how to craft the Armortalon and Powertalon. We’ll explain where to get the Armorcharm and Powercharm needed to create these trinkets. We’ll also detail how to get the Ibushi Claw+, which is essential in creating these powerful items.
How to get the Armorcharm and Powercharm
After you unlock High Rank quests, you’ll be able to purchase the Armorcharm and Powercharm from the two item merchants. Both items are quite expensive, so you might need to do some zenny farming to afford them:
- Armorcharm – 24,000 zenny
- Powercharm – 36,000 zenny
After purchasing them, place each in your item pouch to get an instant buff. The Armorcharm raises your defense by 12 points. The Powercharm raises your attack by 6 points.
These two items alone are a great boon to your stats, but it doesn’t stop there. Near the end of the game, you can defeat a special monster that will allow you to create another set of powerful items.
How to get the Armortalon and Powertalon
After you’ve faced off against Wind Serpent Ibushi in its Rampage quest, you can use broken pieces from that encounter to craft the Armortalon and Powertalon.
When looking at your crafting list, you might see the Armortalon and Powertalon, but if you have not received the proper item from Ibushi yet, you won’t see what you need to create these items. To craft the Armortalon and Powertalon, you need to get an Ibushi Claw+ as a reward for defeating Ibushi.

The Ibushi Claw+ has an 80% chance to drop as a broken part from the creature’s wingarm. There’s a much smaller a chance to get it from a carve or as a dropped item at the end of the hunt, so make sure you craft the right weapon to break pieces off.
Once you have at least two of these claws, you can craft the Armortalon and Powertalon.
To craft both items, you need to buy another set of the Armorcharm and Powercharm from the merchant. Then, with the two charms and two claws in your inventory, go to your crafting list, and you’ll find the Armortalon and Powertalon on the final page. From there you can craft both talons.

The Armortalon will increase your defense by 18 points. The Powertalon will raise your attack power by 9 points.
Keep in mind that you only have one Armorcharm, Armortalon, Powercharm, and Powertalon in your item pouch. Monster Hunter Rise will not let you carry more than one of each.
When carrying both charms and talons, you will get an attack boost of 15 points and a defense increase of 30 points.
