Mining for ores in Monster Hunter Wilds is an extremely important part of building the best weapons and armor. If you want to survive the Forbidden Lands, you will need to start hoarding ore.
Ore locations list in Monster Hunter Wilds
Leave no stone unturned
However, like with bones, there is a huge variety of ores in Monster Hunter Wilds — from the usual Iron Ore to Dragonite Ore and Novacrystals — to new ones that are only dropped by the new monsters.
Each biome has its own mining spots and list of large monsters, so you’ll need to know where to look if you want to build your character quickly.
This page covers where to get all ores in Monster Hunter Wilds by location within Low Rank and High Rank.

What is ore in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Ore is just one of several resources you will need to build weapons and armor for you and your Palico in Monster Hunter Wilds. The other components to look out for are bones and, of course, monster parts.
Naturally, there is some overlap between monster parts and the other two main categories, but know that ore is primarily sourced from Mining Outcrops. They all look the same, no matter your biome, so keep an eye on your mini map for the ore icon and the amethyst-like geode in the overworld.
As with previous games, you will get three ores per Mining Outcrop provided you keep striking it. In keeping with the spiritual precursor game Worlds (Wilds isn’t a strict sequel) you don’t need a pickaxe to mine ore. Collecting your loot is also much quicker than it has been in previous games, too.
Remember, as with previous games, if you’re specifically after ore, you can use your map to locate Mining Outcrops. If you set the Outcrop as a waypoint, you can hop on your trusty Seikret and autopilot your way there.
Low rank ore locations list
Everything in Monster Hunter Wilds can be split into Low Rank and High Rank. Low Rank monsters are easier to subdue than High Rank monsters, and Low Rank ores are, understandably, more common than those you can only find once you unlock High Rank.
Anything marked as Rarity 4 or 5 can be found at Low Rank.

High rank ore locations list
Once you unlock High Rank, the list of ores you can collect expands significantly. However, since you can still collect Rarity 4 and 5 ores amongst the High Rank ores, their becomes much more noticeable.
The exception to this rule is monster parts. Some Low Rank monster parts are available at High Rank (particularly tails), but most are not. These are often replaced by a High Rank version of the same item — a Spike+ instead of a Spike, or Krano Copper becoming Krano Pyrite, for example.
