Here are the 2021 Oscar nominees

In a strange year, streaming dominates

The last year of pandemic life has resulted in the strangest Oscar season ever, mostly because it barely started. In the middle of 2020, when it was clear that coronavirus would be a part of our lives for an unforeseeable future, the Academy chose to delay the entire production a few a months to give more movies a chance to release.

But after the late start, over 13 months after last year’s awards ceremony, we finally got our nominees. On Monday morning, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas took to the Academy’s livestream to let us know which films and filmmakers were up for the 2021 awards.

As for the actual awards, we’ve still got a bit of a wait. The ceremony, in whatever weird, Zoom-focused form it may take, will be held on April 25.

Until then, here’s the full list of 2021 Oscar nominees.
