New Pokémon Snap guide: Meganium boss tips

Use Illumina Orbs to make Meganium glow

In New Pokémon Snap, each of the Lental region’s areas has its own huge Illumina Pokémon. Floria’s Illumina Pokémon is a friendly Meganium who inhabits a large flowery field.

Illumina Spots are the final areas on each island, serving as homes for the Illumina Pokémon. Handfuls of other Pokémon make appearances in these areas, but the main focus is the Illumina Pokémon, which serves as the closest thing to a boss fight that New Pokémon Snap has.

On your first visit to the Floria Illumina Spot, you’ll need to take photos of Meganium while the Illumina effect is in action. You can activate it by throwing a couple of Illumina Orbs at it. You’ll know when the effect takes hold, as the Meganium cheers and glowing swirls appear on its body. The effect will wear off over time, so you’ll need to throw more.

Keeping the Illumina Pokémon glowing is important, as it’ll pose in new ways, use abilities, or even bring out new Pokémon to photograph.

On your second visit to the Floria Illumina Spot, you’ll see more Pokémon there, like Eevee and Shaymin, which you can snap photos of freely.
