New Pokémon Snap guide: Where to find all the Vivillon patterns

There are so many Vivillon to find

In New Pokémon Snap, there are 20 different Vivillon wing patterns, all found in different areas. Some of the Vivillon will just show up as you naturally travel in different areas, but some of them require specific Pokémon interactions.

Where to find Meadow Pattern Vivillon

Meadow Pattern Vivillon can be found easily right at the start of Florio Nature Park during the day.

Where to find Garden Pattern Vivillon

Garden Pattern Vivillon is found in Florio Nature Park during the day. Use your scanner to cross the dam, and as you approach the flower field in the last area, turn around to see a Vivillon behind you.

Where to find Fancy Pattern Vivillon

Fancy Pattern Vivillon is found on the Research Camp’s first route. As the Neo-One approaches the entrance to the camp, there will be several Starly sitting in a tree. Scare them out of the tree using a Fluffruit, and they’ll fly across the camp to another tree. When they do this, a Vivillon will fly out of the three they flew to.

Where to find Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon

Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon is found on the Research Camp’s second route. You need to knock Dedenne off of the Neo-One it’s sleeping on, and use Fluffruit to bait it to the bushes behind. It will scare the Vivillon out of the bushes.

Where to find Monsoon Pattern Vivillon

Monsoon Pattern Vivillon is found in Founja Jungle during the day, if you take the alternate swamp route. Throw Illumina Orbs at the Aipom that run through the swamp and it will cut the grass, making the Vivillon fly out of a hole on your left.

Where to find River Pattern Vivillon

River Pattern Vivillon is found in Founja Jungle at night. Once you get to the pond and the waterfall in the final area, scan to your right to see three unidentified markings. Play music and scan again to make three Vivillon emerge from the bush.

Two of them will be Jungle Pattern and one will be River Pattern, so make sure your camera focuses on the River Pattern Vivillon to add it to your Photodex.

Where to find Modern Pattern Vivillon

Modern Pattern Vivillon is found on the fall route in Elsewhere Forest, which requires some luck to get. Once you get there, throw Illumina Orbs at the Serperior on the other side of the river and play music. It will use Leaf Storm, scaring the Vivillon out of a tree to the right.

Where to find Elegant Pattern Vivillon

Elegant Pattern Vivillon is found in Elsewhere Forest, but you need to do very specific things to get it to appear. In the first foggy area, you will need to throw an Illumina Orb at the Espeon, making it run ahead. In the second foggy area, light up the Crystablooms on the right to reunite the Deerling with the Sawsbuck. To do this, hit the first, second, fourth, and fifth Crystablooms with Illumina Orbs.

Once you do this, the Deerling and Sawsbuck will reunite at the last Crystabloom with an Espeon. Then take the alternate route opened up by the Deerling and Sawsbuck.

On the left, Espeon will be waiting there. Scan to bring it down from the ledge and feed it a Fluffruit. This will make it climb up on the ledge overlooking the area with all four seasons. Hit it with an Illumina Orb and it will summon one of the missing Deerling and Sawsbuck sets. Hit the Crystabloom in the middle with an Illumina Orb and the other missing set will appear. The Vivillon will show up after dongi this.

Where to find Marine Pattern Vivillon

Marine Pattern Vivillon can naturally be found flying around Blushing Beach during the day and night.

Where to find Ocean Pattern Vivillon

Ocean Pattern Vivillon can be found while running through Maricopia Reef at night. They’ll be far away, but you can get closer if you use the Turbo function to get through the map faster.

Where to find Sandstorm Pattern Vivillon

Sandstorm Pattern Vivillon can be found in the Sweltering Sands map during the day, on the left path in the area with the large craters in the sand. They’ll be flying around naturally.

Where to find Savanna Pattern Vivillon

Savanna Pattern Vivillon is found in Sweltering Sands during the night. To see it, you’ll need to throw Fluffruit at the three Lycanroc by the oasis until they all run off. Then, throw an Illumina Orb at the oasis Crystabloom to make the Vivillon appear.

Where to find Sun Pattern Vivillon

Sun Pattern Vivillon is found in Sweltering Sands during the night, along with the Savanna Pattern Vivillon. To see it, you’ll need to throw Fluffruit at the three Lycanroc by the oasis until they all run off. Then, throw an Illumina Orb at the oasis Crystabloom to make the Vivillon appear.

Where to find High Plains Pattern Vivillon

High Plains Pattern Vivillon is found in Fireflow Volcano. To find it, take the right path, leading you to the blue lava room. In the final room past this, there will be a Luxray sitting at the top of the room, to your left. Throw an Illumina Orb at it and it will run off. Several Vivillon will fly out from the right.

Where to find Polar Pattern Vivillon

Polar Pattern Vivillon is found in Shiver Snowfields during the day. To get to it, you’ll need to take both alternate routes. In the cave before the ice floes, you’ll see Vivillon flying around. There is also a group of the same Vivillon flying in the sky towards the exit, along the same route.

Where to find Tundra Pattern Vivillon

Tundra Pattern Vivillon is in Shiver Snowfields during the day. You can find it by looking down into the icy crack by the Weavile and Mamoswine.

Where to find Icy Snow Pattern Vivillon

Icy Snow Pattern Vivillon is found in Shiver Snowfields during the night. To get to it, you’ll need to take both alternate routes. In the cave before the ice floes, you’ll see Vivillon flying around.

Where to find Jungle Pattern Vivillon

The easiest way to find Jungle Pattern Vivillon is to take the alternate route to the crystal cave in Outway Cave. They will be flying around the exit of the map.

However, these can also be found in Founja Jungle during both the day and night. During the day, it can be found on the wall behind the waterfall. At night, you can find the Vivillon if you scan and play music by the pond.

Where to find Archipelago Pattern Vivillon

Archipelago Pattern Vivillon is in Outway Cave. To find it, you’ll need to go down the route to the crystal cave and bring Diancie out by throwing Illumina Orbs at the two Carbink and Mawile at the entrance. Once Diancie comes out, throw an Illumina Orb at it and take the alternate path that opens up now that the Mawile is not blocking the way. The Vivillon will appear far off, near the exit, but it will come closer for a clearer shot.

Where to find Continental Pattern Vivillon

Continental Pattern Vivillon is in the Ruins of Remembrance at the very end. To get it to appear, you need to hit every Crystabloom in the level with an Illumina Orb. Three Vivillon will fly up along the structure in the middle as you near the end of the level.
