Everything doesn’t always go your way in Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139… and sometimes you’ll need to return to a previous save to recover. The prompt to load a save is buried a couple menus deep, so it’s a pain to find. In this Nier Replicant remake guide, we’ll explain how to save and then how to load a previous save from your menu.
Saving your Nier Replicant game
There’s no autosave feature in the Nier Replicant remaster, so you’ll only save at specific locations and only when you purposefully choose to. These steampunk mail box save points are scattered around the world — you’ll find the first one right outside of your house.
There are only three save slots available, so you’ll have to be strategic in how and when you save.
Make it a point to save often — visit a save point every time you pass. (For example, in our experience, this Nier Replicant remake doesn't get along well with the PS5’s sleep mode.)
Loading a Nier Replicant game
If you need to revert to a previous save, you’ll have to dig through a couple layers of menu. From the pause menu, choose Options > Other > Load. That will pull up your list of three save slots.
