A new trailer for the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection dropped earlier this week. In it, developer SNK Corporation included news of a Nintendo Switch exclusive’s release date on Nov. 13. It also gave a partial list of titles, but they’re not the ones that you might be expecting.
Top billing goes to Ikari Warriors, a vertical scrolling shooter first released in Japan in 1986. Also included in the trailer is Psycho Soldier, a platformer released around the same time. The trailer also lists TNK 3, Guerrilla War, Vanguard, Crystalis, P.O.W., Athena, Alpha Mission, Ikari 3: The Rescue and Street Smart. The game’s website also lists Prehistoric Isle and Victory Road.
But, so far at least, no word on fan favorites such as the Metal Slug series, The Last Blade, Garou: Mark of the Wolves or the Samurai Shodown series. According to the trailer, the final product will include “over 13 of the hottest titles” from the company’s back catalog. The website indicates more titles will be announced in the coming months.
