Today’s Nintendo Direct announced the port of a crossover JRPG fans have been waiting for: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.

The gameplay has the main character roaming modern-day Tokyo while also crawling through mysterious dungeons and battling monsters in turn-based combat, similar to that of the Persona games.

The players also summon spirits to help them fight, and the spirits, called Performa, are iconic members of the Fire Emblem series, like Chrom, Cain, and Tharja. It’s a perfect blend of Persona and Fire Emblem, and it has a wonderful splash of Japanese pop.

The original game was teased as a collaboration between Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem, and though many of the teased Fire Emblem characters didn’t make the final cut into the game, it’s still worth picking up while we finish Fire Emblem: Three Houses and wait for Persona 5 Royal.

The game was originally released on the Wii U in Dec. 2015 in Japan. It later got a localization and was released in the West in June 2016. The Nintendo Switch port will release on Jan. 17, 2020.
