Nightflyers is the next series fans of George R.R. Martin will be available to stream all at once this December, Syfy announced today.
The network brought a new trailer for the show to New York Comic Con, where details surrounding the series were announced. Although Syfy is splitting up the 10-episode series into two runs for traditional cable subscribers, all 10 episodes will be available to stream as of Dec. 2 on Syfy’s app.
Martin, who wrote the best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire series, which was turned into HBO’s massively successful Game of Thrones, referred to Nightflyers as “Psycho in space.” The horror book follows a discovery crew aboard a spaceship as they look for extraterrestrial life and lifeforms. It wasn’t a full-fledged novel, instead published as a novella, but Syfy is placing big bets on it. It’s the most expensive series Syfy has ever produced, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While the series isn’t Game of Thrones, it may give Martin fans something to watch before HBO’s series returns for its final season next year.
