In The Outer Worlds, the city of Edgewater has a serious marauder problem. If you’re looking few extra bits and some XP, the town constable will gladly pay you to commit some murder around Emerald Vale.
Here’s how to complete the A Fistful of Digits side quest in The Outer Worlds.
Picking up the quest
If you’ve asked Silas about the marauder problem, he’ll point you to the constable in town. Walk in the front gate and hang a left. There’s a giant sheriff star in neon lights on the outside. Go in and talk to Constable Reyes. Offer your services as a freelancer, and she’ll give you three bounties to chase.
If you look at your map, you’ll see three locations for the marauders: northwest, west, and northeast. Doc Maybell is in the northwest, Bertie Cotton is to the west, and Guillaume Antrim is in the northeast. Let’s go after Doc Maybell first.
Collect Doc Maybell’s finger
Doc Maybell is in a cave in the northwest, just to the north of the Geothermal Plant. Walk up to the cave and you’ll run into a lookout marauder. Kill them and make your way inside. Take out the marauders and Doc Maybell. Walk up to the body and grab the finger.
Collect Bertie Cotton’s finger
Bertie Cotton is to the west of town, in a small, abandoned settlement. There aren’t many marauders here, so you don’t have to prepare for much of a fight. Kill her however you want and pick up her finger.
Collect Guillaume Antrim’s finger
Guillaume is to the northeast, and is the most guarded of all the marauders. If you’ve done the A Few Kindred Spirits quest, he’s in the same town where you find Zoe. Approach the town from the side — look out for mines — and get ready for a fight. There are a lot of marauders here, so pick them off stealthily if you’re comfortable.
If you’re more of a guns blazing type, use the light machine gun, which you can get from the community center vending machine. When everyone is dead, pick up Guillaume’s finger, and head back to town
Turn in Doc Maybell, Bertie Cotton, and Guillaume Antrim’s fingers
Go back to Constable Reyes and individually turn in each finger. She’ll tell you a bit about each person — and maybe make you feel bad for murdering them in cold blood. Anyway, when you’ve turned in all of the fingers, you’ll get a handsome bounty of experience and Bits.
