Persona 5 guide: Queen's Necklace and treasure demons

When you arrive in Madarame’s Museum palace and progress through the laser room, you will encounter your first Treasure Demon. These foes cannot harm you or your party members. Bringing them down in any way will net you and your friends some awesome experience. However, if you are able to knock them down and capture them, you can use them to create powerful new Personas.

Treasure Demons may found inside every smashable treasure inside of a palace, but their appearance is random. As such, be sure to use Third Eye as much as possible while roaming around palaces, always smashing open yellow objects when you have the chance. If there is a Treasure Demon inside, you will have to chase it around and attack it.

There are a few different variities of Treasure Demon, each with their own specific weakness. If you do not knock it down using a weakness, it will escape in only a few turns. Be quick when taking these things down.

According to idigitaltimes, the possible Treasure Demons along with their weaknesses are:

  • Regent: Use psychic or nuclear skills to take them down
  • Queen’s Necklace: Use gunfire to take them down
  • Stone of Scone: Use curse abilities to take them down
  • Koh-I-Noor: These have no weaknesses, so you must land a critical strike on them in order to take them down
  • Orlov: These have no weaknesses, so you must land a critical strike on them in order to take them down
  • Emperor’s Talisman: These have no weaknesses, so you must land a critical strike on them in order to take them down
  • Hope Diamond: These have no weaknesses, so you must land a critical strike on them in order to take them down
  • Crystal Skull: These have no weaknesses, so you must land a critical strike on them in order to take them down

For all of these listed, but especially the last several (the ones that have no weaknesses), you have a few options. There are abilities like Lucky Punch that are specifically designed to land a critical hit. Later in the game, you will also quire the Tower confidant. If you can level your relationship up enough times, you will be able to knock down an enemy easily with your gun.

You can only hold one Treasure Demon at once, and you can’t use them to fight. Instead, return to Igor in the Velvet Room and fuse them together with another one of your Personas. This will create a powerful new Persona with a whole host of inheritable abilities.
