Some Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl require special Evolution Stones to evolve, like Murkrow needing a Dusk Stone or Kirlia needing a Dawn Stone. These stones are rare around Sinnoh. Our evolution stone guide explains where to find rare Evolution Stones and what they’re used on.

Since Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is a remake of an older game, it uses older evolution methods. That being said, Eevee does not use an Ice Stone to evolve into Glaceon. Instead, you have to level it up near a special rock. The same goes for Leafeon.

You can find all of the stones in the Grand Underground. With some luck, you can dig them out of walls, as you would with other treasure. Some other stones outside of the Grand Underground are being held by other Pokémon. To get items from them, you can catch them or you can use the dark-type move Thief or the fairy-type move Covet.

We’ve listed out the locations to find Evolution Stones in the overworld below.
