The last main event of February in Pokémon Go is a friendship weekend event, unlocking a plethora of friendship-based perks for a couple days.
Starting Friday Feb. 21 at 8 a.m. local time and running until until Feb. 24 at 10 p.m. local time, players will have access to the following:
- Bigger friendship level increases
- Doubled trade candy
- Halved Stardust cost on trades
- The ability to open 40 gifts per day (up from 20)
- The ability to carry up to 20 gifts (up from 10)
While there don’t seem to be any special Pokémon spawns or new Shinies for this event, it’s a great weekend to take advantage of if you wanted to swap Legendary Pokémon with your friends, or perhaps trade them a regional ’mon you snagged while on vacation.
To make the most of this weekend, consider grabbing a buddy and trading Pokémon that you both need candy for. Remember that Pokémon that are traded once cannot be traded again, so don’t trade any favorite Pokémon you were planning on using. You should also remember to open gifts every day to increase your friendship, as reaching new ranks of friendship gives a huge chunk of XP.
