Pokémon Go Dragon Week makeup event guide: Timed Research and rewards

To make up for technical difficulties that occurred during the original Dragon Week Ultra Unlock, Pokémon Go is running the Timed Research again.

Note that the other perks of Dragon Week, like the increased dragon-type spawn rate, are not returning. However, players should still take advantage since the Timed Research this time around is much easier to complete. This means it’s even easier to snag two free Deino.

Remember to use Pinap Berries on the Deino encounters, as Deino are rare spawns and they evolve into the very powerful Hydreigon.

This Timed Research will be available from Aug. 21 at 8 a.m. until Aug. 26 at 10 p.m. in your local time.

Step 1 of 5

• Power up Pokémon 3 times (3 Hyper Potions)
• Make 2 nice throws (500 XP)
• Catch 2 Pokémon (5 Poké Balls)

Reward: 500 Stardust, Dratini encounter, 1 Silver Pinap Better

Step 2 of 5

• Evolve a Pokémon (3 Revives)
• Make 4 nice throws (300 XP)
• Catch 4 Pokémon (7 Poké Balls)
• Reward: 500 Stardust, Bagon encounter, 1 Silver Pinap Berry

Step 3 of 5

• Win a raid (1 Charged TM)
• Make 2 great throws (1,000 XP)
• Catch 6 Pokémon (5 Great Balls)

Reward: 500 Stardust, Deino encounter, 1 Silver Pinap Berry

Step 4 of 5

• Defeat 2 Team Rocket grunts (1 Dragon Scale)
• Make 2 great throws (1,500 XP)
• Catch 8 different species of Pokémon (7 Great Balls)

Reward: 500 Stardust, Exeggutor encounter, 1 Silver Pinap Berry
