Pokémon Go is hosting its Duskull Community Day, which takes place on Oct. 9, 2021. Our Pokémon Go Duskull Community Day guide includes all of Duskull’s Community Day’s perks, the exclusive move Dusknoir learns, and the ways to make the most of your Community Day.
The usual Community Day perks, like increased spawn and Shiny rate, will be active on Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in your local time zone.
How do I find a Shiny Duskull?
Community Day events have a heightened Shiny rate for the featured Pokémon, so if you’re playing, you should be able to find several Shiny Duskull.
If you don’t have time to play all day, you can find a Shiny Duskull by popping an Incense, and tapping each Duskull that pops up. The Shiny rate on Community Days is approximately 1 in 25, according to The Silph Road’s research, so you should find a Shiny Duskull quickly.

What Community Day move does Duskull’s evolution learn?
When evolved any time on Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. in your local time, your Duskull evolution will learn Shadow Ball, a powerful ghost-type move.
Based on past years, if you miss the Community Day period, you’ll likely be able to evolve your Duskull during the December Community Weekend event to get its move. You can also use an Elite TM to teach legacy Community Day-only moves.
How does Dusknoir do in battle?
In PvE content, Dusknoir is far behind other standard ghost-type attackers like Gengar or Chandelure. If you want to use it, set it up with Hex and Shadow Ball.
In PvP, Dusknoir isn’t great. You can set it up with Hex with Shadow Ball and Dark Pulse.
Notably, its lesser evolved form, Dusclops, is better in PvP. Set Dusclops up with Hex, Shadow Punch and Fire Punch. If you have a Shadow Dusclops, using Hex with Return and Ice Punch will work well, too.
How do I make the most of Duskull Community Day?
Any Stardust gained from catching Pokémon will be tripled, so if you’re going to be out catching a lot of Pokémon, you should consider using a Star Piece to boost that Stardust even further. Incense used during the event will also last a whopping three hours, so you should use one (if you have one) to increase your Duskull spawns further.
