Pokémon Go Weather Week event guide: Timed Research and rewards

Pokémon Go is hosting an event to celebrate weather-based Pokémon from March 24-29.

The event will increase the spawns for Pokémon like Castform, while also having increased spawns during specific days. Parasect, Psyduck, Poliwag, Vaporeon, Lotad, Surskit, Croagunk, Shelmet, and Stunfisk will spawn more often from March 24-27. Skarmory, Taillow, Wingull, Pidove, and Ducklett will spawn more frequently from March 27-29.

Water- and flying-type Pokémon like Swablu, Drifloon, Mantyke, and Ducklett will also be hatching out of any five kilometer eggs you obtain during the event period.

Most notably, Castform will be available Shiny in its Rainy Form for the first time. Note that Castform’s default form has already been released Shiny, but its Sun and Snow Forms do not have Shiny versions in the game yet.

As usual with Pokémon Go events, Weather Week also features Field Research you can claim from spinning Poké Stops during the event duration, as well as Timed Research to do.

Weather Week Timed Research and rewards

Task 1 of 4

• Catch 10 water-, electric-, or bug-type Pokémon (Rainy Form Castform encounter)
• Take a snapshot of a water-type Pokémon (200 Stardust)
• Send 3 gifts to friends (Psyduck encounter)

Reward: Wailmer encounter, 5 Poké Balls, 500 XP

Task 2 of 4

• Catch 15 water-, electric-, or bug-type Pokémon (Rainy Form Castform encounter)
• Power up Pokémon 7 times (3 Pinap Berry)
• Defeat 2 Team Go Rocket Grunts (Buizel encounter)

Reward: Rainy Form Castform encounter, 7 Poké Balls, 500 XP

Task 3 of 4

• Catch 15 flying-, psychic-, or dragon-type Pokémon (Rainy Form Castform encounter)
• Make 5 nice curveball throws (600 Stardust)
• Earn 5 hearts with your buddy (Woobat encounter)

Reward: Swellow encounter, 10 Poké Balls, 800 XP

Task 4 of 4

• Catch 20 flying-, psychic- or dragon-type Pokémon (Rainy Form Castform encounter)
• Make 9 curveball throws in a row (1,200 Stardust)
• Evolve 3 Pokémon (Swablu encounter)

Reward: Togetic encounter, 12 Poké Balls, 1,200 XP
