Pokémon Go Searching for Legends event guide: Special Research and rewards

Pokémon Go is hosting a ground- and rock-type event from March 9-14, 2021.

As expected of this event, ground- and rock-types are spawning more often. You’ll be able to find Pokémon like Roggenrola, Baltoy, and Aron more often in the wild. Diglett, Alolan Geodude, Lairon, and Beldum are also more likely to appear when you use an Incense.

Most importantly, Shiny Nosepass and Probopass have been added to the game during this event.

To help collect Nosepass Candy, there are several Field Research Tasks you can get from PokéStops, as well as a set of Timed Research in the “Today’s View” section, that reward Nosepass.

Searching for Legends Timed Research Tasks

Step 1 of 7

• Take a snapshot of a ground-type Pokémon (300 Stardust)
• Catch 10 ground-type Pokémon (8 Poké Balls)

Reward: Nosepass encounter, 100 XP

Step 2 of 7

• Use 3 Nanab Berries while catching Pokémon (Magnemite encounter)
• Use 3 Razz Berries while catching Pokémon (Magnemite encounter)
• Use 3 Pinap Berries while catching Pokémon (Magnemite encounter)

Reward: Nosepass encounter, 200 XP

Step 3 of 7

• Take a snapshot of a rock-type Pokémon (300 Stardust)
• Catch 10 rock-type Pokémon (8 Poké Balls)

Reward: Nosepass encounter, 300 XP

Step 4 of 7

• Defeat 1 Team Go Rocket Grunt (Stunfisk encounter)

Reward: Nosepass encounter, 400 XP

Step 5 of 7

• Take a snapshot of a steel-type Pokémon (300 Stardust)
• Catch 10 steel-type Pokémon (8 Poké Balls)

Reward: Nosepass encounter, 500 XP

Step 6 of 7

• Make 3 curveball throws (Baltoy encounter)
• Make 6 great curveball throws (Ferroseed encounter)
• Make 9 curveball throws in a row (Forretress encounter)

Reward: Nosepass encounter, 600 XP

Step 7 of 7

• Use an Incense (Shieldon encounter)
• Catch 45 steel-type Pokémon (1 Silver Pinap Berry)

Reward: Nosepass encounter, 700 XP, 1 Magnetic Lure Module

• Make 5 great throws (10 Great Balls)
• Transfer 10 Pokémon (10 Pinap Berries)

Reward: 500 Stardust, 1,500 XP, Kabuto encounter

• Catch 10 ground-type Pokémon (10 Hyper Potions)
• Catch 5 Pokémon with weather boost (1 Mossy Lure Module)
• Take a snapshot of Landorus (10 Landorus Candy)

Reward: 500 Stardust, 2,000 XP, Drilbur encounter

• Catch 10 flying-type Pokémon (5 Max Revives)
• Catch 5 Pokémon with weather boost (1 Fast TM)
• Take a snapshot of Tornadus (10 Tornadus Candy)

Reward: 500 Stardust, 2,000 XP, Ducklett encounter

• Catch 10 electric-type Pokémon (10 Ultra Balls)
