Gible Community Day in Pokémon Go runs June 6 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in your local time. During the event period, Gible will be spawning in large numbers with a very high chance of appearing Shiny.
In our Pokémon Go guide, we’ll walk you through how to find and catch Gible, Shiny Gible, what Community Day move Garchomp learns, and how to make the most of the Community Day.
How do I find a Shiny Gible?
Community Day events have a heightened Shiny rate for the featured Pokémon, so if you’re playing, you should be able to find several Shiny Gible. If you don’t have time to play all day, you can find a Shiny Gible by popping an Incense, and tapping each Gible that pops up. The Shiny rate on Community Days is approximately 1 in 25, according to The Silph Road’s research, so you should find a Shiny Gible quickly.
What Community Day move does Garchomp learn?
Garchomp learns Earth Power when you evolve a Gabite on June 6 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. in your local time. (Yes, you have an extra two hours after the Gible stop spawning to evolve it!)
If you miss the Community Day period, you’ll likely be able to evolve your Gible during the December Community Weekend event to get Earth Power, based on past years. You can also use an Elite TM to teach legacy Community Day-only moves.
What’s Garchomp’s best moveset?
Garchomp is a monster in PvE content like raids and gyms. It’s a good dragon-type attacker with Dragon Tail and Outrage, but it is one of the best ground-type attackers in the game with Mudshot and Earth Power.
Even if a Pokémon isn’t in Pokémon Go yet, its strength and viability can be calculated using its stats from the mainline games, so unless Niantic changes something up spontaneously, Mega Garchomp should remain powerful. While Mega Garchomp isn’t in the game yet, Mega Garchomp will almost certainly be the premier ground-type attacker, so keep that in mind as you collect Gible Candy.
How do I make the most of the Community Day?
Gible Community Day will also have tripled catch XP, so you can use any Lucky Eggs you have to increase the XP you gain even further. Incense used during the event will also last a whopping three hours, so you should use one (if you have one) to increase your Gible spawns further.
