Pokémon Go’s February 2022 Community Day focuses on Hoppip, the pink floating plant Pokémon. Hoppip Community Day will featured a heavily increased spawn rate for Hoppip, with increased chances to find it Shiny, as well as a special moves for its evolution Jumpluff to learn.
Ou Pokémon Go Hoppip Community Day guide explains how to find Shiny Hoppip, Jumpluff’s meta relevance, and how to make the most of your Community Day.
The Community Day event takes place on Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in your local time.
How do I find a Shiny Hoppip?
Community Day events have a heightened Shiny rate for the featured Pokémon, so if you’re playing, you should be able to find several Shiny Hoppip.
If you don’t have time to play all day, you can find a Shiny Hoppip by popping an Incense, and tapping each Hoppip that pops up. The Shiny rate on Community Days is approximately 1 in 25, according to The Silph Road’s research, so you should find a Shiny Hoppip quickly.
What Community Day move does Hoppip’s evolution learn?
When evolved from Hoppip into Jumpluff on Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. in your local time, Jumpluff learns the charged attack Acrobatics.
Based on past years, if you miss the Community Day period, you’ll likely be able to evolve your Hoppip during the December Community Weekend event to get its move. You can also use an Elite TM to teach legacy Community Day-only moves.
How does Jumpluff do in battle?
Jumpluff isn’t the ideal PvP candidate, but Acrobatics does give it a leg up if you want to use it. JRE47 on reddit notes that yeah while Acrobatics is an improvement, it’s not one they can confidently tell people to stock with Jumpluff up on.
When it comes to raiding and gyms, Jumpluff remains behind the pack, as there are many other flying-types that outclass it heavily, so save your Stardust.
How do I make the most of Hoppip Community Day?
During the Community Day event period, catch Stardust will be tripled. This means that you can rake in Stardust by using Star Piece items if you plan on catching a ton of Hoppip. Incense and Lures will last for 3 hours as well, so you should use those to increase your Spheal spawns even further.
You can also get up to three raid passes for free from spinning photo disks at gyms. You can only hold on to one free raid pass at a time, so you’ll have to be actively raiding throughout the day to get all of them.
