Pokémon Go is hosting its Water Festival event, alongside the addition of Dewpider to the game. During the event, water-type Pokémon will spawn more frequently and hatching eggs awards doubled candy. Our Pokémon Go Water Festival guide lists out the Timed Research, spawns, and other bonuses.

The event takes place from May 12-20.

There’s also a Catch Challenge event. If players can catch a combined 600 million water-type Pokémon, candy obtained from catching Pokémon will be doubled.

Water Festival: Catch Challenge Timed Research and rewards

  • Catch 15 Pokémon (20 Poké Balls)
  • Catch 50 Pokémon (25 Great Balls)
  • Catch 25 water-type Pokémon (25 Ultra Balls)
  • Make 25 curveball throws (Dewpider encounter)
  • Catch 10 different species of Pokémon (50 Gyarados Mega Energy)
