Terrakion is one of the many Legendary Pokémon that can be featured as a Pokémon Go raid target. Our Pokémon Go guide lists out Terrakion’s weaknesses, the best counters to use against it, and the best moveset to give it.
Terrakion counters and weaknesses
The Cavern Pokémon, Terrakion, is rock- and fighting-type, leaving it open to a lot of weaknesses. You can use fighting-, ground-, steel-, water-, grass-, psychic-, and fairy-type moves to take it down. We recommend the following:
- Mewtwo with Confusion and Psystrike or Psychic
- Metagross with Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash
- Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Kyogre with Waterfall and Hydro Pump or Surf
There are so many counters you can use against Terrakion. If you have any Community Day Pokémon, like Sceptile with Frenzy Plant, those can be put to work against this guy.
Utilizing weather boosts will also help against Terrakion. Take out your Kyogre and water-types when it’s raining, your grass- and ground-types when it’s sunny and your fighting-, psychic-, and fairy-types when it’s cloudy.
Terrakion best movesets
The best moveset for Terrakion is Smack Down and Rock Slide, both utilizing its rock-typing. Terrakion is a pretty solid rock-type attacker, falling second only to Rampardos. It has a lot of weaknesses, but can be used to take down any bug-, fire-, flying-, and ice-types with ease.
Is Terrakion available Shiny?

Lucky players may encounter a Shiny Terrakion. If you do see a Shiny, it will catch on the first ball you hit it with, so use a Pinap Berry to score some extra candy.
