Dialga is one of Pokémon Go’s many powerful dragon-type raid targets. In our Pokémon Go Dialga raid guide, we’ll explain Dialga’s weaknesses and the best counters to use against it, as well as its best movesets.
Dialga best counters and weaknesses
Dialga’s dragon- and steel-typing give it two weaknesses: fighting- and ground-type moves. Use any of the following:
- Lucario with Counter and Aura Sphere
- Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Garchomp with Mud Shot and Earth Power or Earthquake
- Groudon with Mud Shot and Earthquake
If you have the Mega Energy to spare, you can also use Mega Lopunny to pack a punch. (No pun intended.)
As usual, use weather boosts to power up your moves even further. Sunny or clear weather will boost ground-type moves, and cloudy weather will boost fighting-type moves.
Dialga best moveset
Dialga’s best moveset is Dragon Breath and Draco Meteor, taking advantage of its dragon typing. Metal Claw and Iron Head are great if you need a steel-type DPS.
Can Dialga be Shiny?
Lucky players may encounter a Shiny Dialga.I f you do see a Shiny, you’ll catch it on the first ball you hit it with, so use a Pinap Berry to score some extra candy.
