Pokémon Go ‘Test Your Mettle’ event guide

Pokémon Go’s “Test Your Mettle” event has a steel-type theme and introduces Togedemaru and Mega Aggron to the game. The event runs from Sept. 16-21 and features a handful of special bonuses.

Notably, you’ll get more candy for catching Pokémon with nice, great, or excellent throws. Completing the event Timed Research Tasks will also reward the new Togedemaru and a ton of Aron Candy so you can power up an Aggron to Mega Evolve.

Test Your Mettle Timed Research Tasks and rewards

• Catch 25 steel-type Pokémon (25 Poké Balls)
• Walk 2 km (Onix encounter)
• Make 15 nice throws (20 Great Balls)
• Make 10 great throws (10 Ultra Balls)
• Make 5 curveball throws (10 Pinap Berries)
• Use 10 berries to help catch Pokémon (25 Steelix Mega Energy)

Rewards: Togedemaru encounter, 1 Magnetic Lure Module, 2,500 XP

• Make 15 curveball throws (3 Golden Razz Berries)
• Evolve 3 steel-type Pokémon (20 Great Balls)

• Take snapshots of 5 different wild steel-type Pokémon (1,000 Stardust)
